Construction
Process
In addition to supervising the construction, we will:
• Obtain all necessary building and construction permits.
• Be your representative and advocate at any construction committee hearings, homeowner’s association meetings, etc.
• Hire the subcontractors. Verify that they have the appropriate credentials, experience, licenses and insurance.
• Obtain a “release of lien” from all subcontractors involved in the building of your home.
• Write the checks to pay for materials, subcontractors, services, etc.
• Inform you of the timelines for the decisions you are responsible to make including the selection of windows, appliances, flooring, cabinets, plumbing, lighting, finishes, colors, etc.
• Coordinate the ordering and receiving of materials needed to coincide with the construction timeline.
We are always on the lookout for improved materials and methods. We respect the wisdom of the “tried and true” methods, but also know the value of progress and will discuss with you any new products that we have researched and have found to be an improvement or a better value. As part of our commitment to the trust our clients place in us, we stay up to date with several construction journals and trade magazines, by attending construction / building seminars and by participating in several home builders associations. This continued focus on learning, combined with our years of experience, place us in an excellent position to handle your project with expertise, efficiency, and fairness.
We understand that time is money, and that expediency is better for you and for us. The fixed fee system gives us an incentive to complete your home in a timely manner because the fixed fee shrinks as we spread the project over more weeks of construction. We will always work to finish your project in the timeframe we agree on, while never compromising our commitment to you, to quality or to integrity.
Completion
The typical construction time for a custom home is 6-8 months. We pride ourselves on maintaining efficient construction schedules.
